
In August 2017, another player dormitory for the age range U14 to U16 was opened in Zuzenhausen. Up to twelve players can live in single rooms directly in the performance center. A dormitory for players is also attached there. The U17 and U19 train in the performance center (LZ). The change from basic to advanced training is carried out, which is the focus of the Academy Arena (AA) completed in summer 2016 for the U14, U15 and U16 teams. In the basic center (GZ) players from the U9 to the U13 are trained.

The TSG Academy is divided into three centers. Marcus Mann has been responsible for the academy's sports area since July 2020. Further directors were Ernst Tanner (2009 to April 2010), Alexander Rosen (until April 2013) and Michael Mutzel (until the end of 2014). The academy's first sporting director was Matthias Born (2006–2009), most recently Dirk Mack (2015–2020), the former association sports teacher of the Württemberg Football Association, was the director of the young generation. Since autumn 2017 it has been called the "TSG Academy". For the 2009/10 season, the existing syndicates were dissolved and the term "Achtzehn99 Akademie" was introduced as a brand for the TSG youth department.

In the early days, the TSG youth department cooperated in syndicates with the neighboring FC Zuzenhausen, the entire sporting area was under the leadership of "Anpfiff ins Leben", one of the Dietmar Hopp Foundation sponsored association that takes care of the holistic training of young athletes in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. With the spin-off of Spielbetriebs GmbH on June 1, 2006, the youth division of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim was raised to a professional level and received a prominent manager in the form of the former national hockey coach Bernhard Peters, who was in charge of the structures as director for sports and youth development up to his Departure in the summer of 2014.
